The national @lantic 7's series comes to a close on Saturday 1 November 2008 when the Best-of-the-Best face off in the last battle to crown the ultimate team for 2008. The event will be hosted at Atomic Sport Academy just outside Pretoria and will be broadcast live on SuperSport from 12h00-17h30.Â
Being the second season of the @lantic School 7’s one would think the hype had died down a little, but alast not…the teams came out swinging as bragging rights was at stake and all wanted to prove that their school is the ultimate champions. The bar has certainly been raised from last year and we believe that this is a trend that will follow through to the 2009 season.Â
The best player from every tournament was invited to a training camp where they get the chance to demonstrate their ability and earn a place in the @lantic Invitational Team that will compete in the international IRB Dubai 7’s Tournament at the end of November.
The 2008 season delivered a horde of talented young rugby players who will certainly make their mark in South African rugby in the near future. Who knows, with the new ELV’s these young boys could set the benchmark for South African Rugby and all of its competitors.
