The @lantic tournament to crown the South African 7's schools champion will take place on Friday 6 November and Saturday 7 November at Konka near Rustenburg. Fifteen of South Africa's top 7's school teams, as well as the Namibian champions Windhoek Hoërskool, will compete to be crowned as the @lantic champion team. Harmony Sport Academy are the defending champions.
Â
According to tournament promoter, Willem Strauss it is very difficult to identify a potential winner. "All the teams quality of play has improved dramatically since last year and teams like Harmony, Merensky, Ben Vorster and Middelburg shone throughout the @lantic series" said Strauss. More than 300 schools and youth teams participated in this year's series.
Â
According to Paul Treu, Springbok 7's coach this is excellent exposure for the participating teams. "Some of these boys could represent South Africa at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio Janeiro" said Treu. Saturday's matches will be shown live on M-Net and SuperSport 1 from 13:00 to 16:00. The Cup final kicks-off on Saturday at 15:30.
