@LANTIC 7's KICKS OFF IN POLOKWANE PDF Print E-mail

The popular @lantic series kicks-off when the first tournament takes place on 30 January at the new 45 000 seater Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.  Sport promoter Willem Strauss confirmed that this @lantic tournament will form part of the program for the Super 14 warm-up match between the Vodacom Bulls and the Auto & General Lions.  This game takes place after the Cup final of the @lantic competition.

 

According to Strauss, who is also the promoter of the Super 14 warm-up match, the day's proceedings are a trial run for the local structures preparation for the Soccer World Cup matches that take place at the stadium later in the year.  "We feel privileged that the @lantic competition can contribute towards soccer's preparation for the World Cup in the Limpopo Province" said Strauss.

 

More than 300 schools participated in last year's series with Monnas from Krugersdorp eventually being crowned the champions.  The first tournaments of the year are:

 

30 January Peter Mokaba Stadium (Polokwane)

13 February Pionier (Vryheid)

20 February Jim Fouche (Bloemfontein)

27 February Diamantveld (Kimberley)

06 March Stirling (East London)

13 March DF Malan (Cape Town)
