The popular @lantic 7's series for high schools takes place on Saturday, 10 September at HS Brandwag in Uitenhage. During the past 4 years more than a thousand teams have participated in the @lantic series. According to the tournament promoter, Willem Strauss, the remaining tournaments are of great importance to the players. "The first provincial @lantic U18 and also U13 7's tournament will take place on 6 & 7 October in the North West, which is an excellent motivation for even more schools to participate" said Strauss. The SA U18 7's team will participate in tournaments such as the Youth Olympic Games.

Grey High won the tournament last year and are once again one of the favourites. Teams such as Brandwag, Framesby, HTS Daniel Pienaar and the national champions from last year, Tygerberg from the Western Cape, will provide strong opposition.

The first match kicks-off on Saturday at 08h15 with the cup final being played at 16h30. The participating schools are: HS Brandwag, Grey PE, Framesby, Muir College, Itembelihle Comprehensive, Kirkwood, John Walton Secondary, Molly Blackburn Senior Secondary, Solomon Mahlangu, Despatch, Daniel Pienaar, DF Malherbe, Mt. Pleasant, Bredasdorp High, HS Wonderboom and HS Tygerberg .
