One of the stars of the @lantic 7's series was included in the Springbok 7's team for the New Zealand leg of the IRB Sevens series.
Hoffman Maritz came through the ranks of the @lantic 7's series and first represented the victorious @lantic invitational team in 2007. The team won the Dubai IRB 7's International Senior competition in 2007 and 2008. Hoffman played in both tournaments.

The @lantic 7's series is a stepping stone for youngsters that have their targets set on representing their country in the 2016 Olympic Games as these youngsters will be in the age group that players will be selected from in 2016. With their fantastic talent and the structure provided by the series they have an excellent platform to show off their talent to the national selectors."
Monument Hoërskool of Krugersdorp on Saturday won the 2009 @lantic national Sevens series for schools at the champions tournament at Konka near Rustenburg when they beat Vryheid’s Pionier Hoërskool in the final. The halftime score was 7-5.
The final was a highlight of the tournament which was a culmination of the 15 regional tournaments held throughout the country since the first at Merensky in Tzaneen on January 31. A total of 327 schools took part in the series.
The popular @lantic series kicks-off when the first tournament takes place on 30 January at the new 45 000 seater Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. Sport promoter Willem Strauss confirmed that this @lantic tournament will form part of the program for the Super 14 warm-up match between the Vodacom Bulls and the Auto & General Lions. This game takes place after the Cup final of the @lantic competition.
The @lantic tournament to crown the South African 7's schools champion will take place on Friday 6 November and Saturday 7 November at Konka near Rustenburg. Fifteen of South Africa's top 7's school teams, as well as the Namibian champions Windhoek Hoërskool, will compete to be crowned as the @lantic champion team. Harmony Sport Academy are the defending champions.
